I am starting to like giclee prints are little more these days. I generally don’t pay much attention to them because they are basically a glorified ink jet print and generally cost more than a screen print. I think there is something to be said for prints that have been designed and screen printed by hand.

But this print is testament to what giclee printing can achieve. When looking at the top of the print at the half circle, I actually had the run my hand across to see if the texture of the paint was actually there. I was fooled.

Another incredible piece by Thomas Hooper and another for the collection. Fuck you landloards, let me hang stuff on the walls.

Apparently some guy behind my mate tried riding through it. 1 out of 6 did not eat shit. Perhaps it was the log that was completely submerged.

Faith No More with Eagles of Death Metal show poster for a pre-Soundwave show in Auckland and part of Faith No More’s “The Second Coming” Tour. Probably would of been a sweet show. Poster was a collaboration between Brian Ewing and Buff Monster.

I want a human skull, a real one. But for some reason it can be difficult to find and also to afford at times. Over at Land of Skulls they make replicas of human skulls. But not just that, they also have replicas of animals, including extinct. Reasonably affordable. And let’s face it, skulls do look rad.

Tattooist Steven Burlton is the latest artist to join the ranks at Shirts & Destroy. He has two shirts available for the time being. One being a personal design and the other being a design for The Hope Conspiracy.

I have decided to attempt at submitting something in for I Want Your Skull IX. I have an idea that i am going to run with fitting in the theme, now I just have to but it to paper. Deadline is March 31st.

Last Saturday was the inaugural date of the most well organised and greatest prize pool in an alleycat Brisbane has probably ever seen. With 37 riders, 3 stages, 17 checkpoints and over $2,500 of prizes to hand out, the night was aimed at being a complete success. And from all accounts (minus some rain) it was.

The organiser, Kero has put together a report on the happenings and is worth reading.

Here’s hoping CNG2011 is just as great.

I got one of my frames back from the painters earlier this week. Looks amazing. Has a little bit of a brown tinge to it in the sun.

I just need to sort out a headset, bar tape, chain, pedal & foot retention and chain ring then I’ll be set. Thinking of putting a front brake on this one even after busting myself up.

I haven’t touched my mountain bike in sometime. Last time I went out to Gap Creek I lost my gloves, so I went out and bought some new ones that week. They have just been sitting there with my Camelbak, shin guards and bike since not doing anything.

But hopefully not before too long, I’ll get some time to head out again. I am dying to give this place a go.

It’s a mountain bike trails park just outside of Ipswich on a farm property. Only issues are it’s in Ipswich and it isn’t free. That’s not enough to stop me from wanting to go there though. You can get 1 or 2 day passes and the park also has cabins if you wishes to stay there if you get a 2 day pass.

What is it with trials riders picking up a fixed geared bike and then nailing some incredible shit. This one has been making the rounds of the internet this week. Great edit.

There is also Chris Layda who has a series called “Turning Tricks” which is/was a weekly video showing his progress as a freestyle fixed rider. Here is the latest one I could find.

Florian is the artist behind the Hagakure print series (I, II, III), Converge “Lonewolves” print, some Doomriders designs, Agoraphobic Nosebleed designs, and a heap more. Definitely one of my favorite modern artists.

I don’t have anything more to say on the matter. I think this says it all.

I shouldn’t have to tell you, but this are amazing painting. He recently had a joint art exhibition with Breyer P. Orridge in New York showcasing his recent work called “Putting Your Money Where Your Mouth Is…A LOVE STORY”.

The whole series on done with oils on panel. They look incredible.
