Ghost Town - Calamities (Review)

Finally seeing the light of day is Ghost Town’s long awaited follow up to their EP “The Way the World Ends” and first full length “Calamities”. Good title considering it took so long to get out (I joke).

Being released on Dead Souls Records, Ghost Town are probably doing and achieving what so many other bands around Australia are trying to pull off. This is for people who like Converge, Entombed, Tragedy, Integrity and Rise & Fall to name a few.

This album is strong from start the finish and they are really starting to develop a sound that really represents the band’s lyrical content. The opening track (not including the intro) “Calamities” is a powerful song to start the album with also. 11 tracks of mind crushing heaviness with the final track being the song to end all songs. As of yesterday it should be available in most regular independent record stores or through Dead Souls and Ghost Town themsleves.

Ghost Town are touring the east coast in April.

They are also supporting Converge and Genghis Tron at the Hi-Fi Bar in Brisbane this Saturday night. No big deal.
