Kylesa Appreciation

I can not remember how I came across this band, but I remember it being last year some stage. It’s probably just after their new album was released. But regardless of when and how I came across Kylesa, this band has become part of my “highly listened too” list.

Formed back in 2001, Kylesa creates itself with a heavy doom/sludge sound using dual vocals and dual drummers. Kylesa manage to be as loud as they possibly can be and drive a song even harder. The dual drumming is amazing at parts with both drummers playing syncopated beats that really works well with the feel of the music.

Two albums are stand outs for me. One being last year’s “Static Tensions” and the other being their 2006 release “Time Will Fuse Its Worth”. Track 5, Between Silence and Sound on this album is incredible. The main riff is so punishing.

Just go listen to them.
