New Bonsai

After going away on holidays last summer and coming home to none of my bonsai plants being alive, I decided it would be best to leave it for a little while until I though I was ready to take it up again.

Last week the idea came into my head to start up again by a new stock plant to start work on when I am healed. I headed out to Oxley yesterday to probably my favorite bonsai supplier in Brisbane who runs everything from his backyard. I haven’t been out there for about 2 years and it has changed a lot. looks remarkable.

Anyway, this is what I walked away with. A Weeping Leaf Fig that was air layered from a plant roughly 15 years old. Has a nice “twin trunk” shape to work with and plently of root and branch development to prune and shape.
