Happy Moon Landing Day

Today marks the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 landing on the surface of the moon and walking on it.

It is funny though, just the other day one of my housemates was watching Mythbusters episodes he has on his computer and one was an Apollo 11 special (s06e03 if you want to track it down). Conspiracy nuts be damned. The episode was about proving whether the moon landing was fake and shot in a studio due to certain images, the foot print being held in place on the lunar surface, and a few other things I cant really remember.

Also in the last few days I have been seeing news reports on whether NASA should focus on the moon again or just start planning more directly for Mars.

This article has been done recently too:
from Reuters - Six end simulated Mars mission isolation
MOSCOW (Reuters) - Four Russians, a Frenchman and a German ended a simulated 105-day space trip in Moscow on Tuesday designed to test their responses in the kind of isolated surroundings they would experience in a manned mission to Mars.…more

Space exploration is better than you.
