Against the Grain
After lurking local drone band, No Anchor’s blog and sending them an email the drummer’s (Alex) art show coming up, did I discover he has been doing woodblocks and etchings for almost a year now. Some of his work is amazing. You should come and check it out.
Just find it interesting that you don’t really seem to find too many people in Brisbane attempting this form of art and then you find out that someone who have talked to on a few occasions does something that is kind of obscure and hard to come by that you also have an interest in.
Alex’s thoughts on the matter -
“Not alot to say that isn’t shown in the pictures. I do Woodblocks and prints and have an exhibition coming up soon.
I’m teaching myself everything I know and currently don’t know anyone else in my town of Brisbane who is making this form of art. I’m not saying that there’s not people out there doing this kind of think. but in my part of the world… I can’t find ‘em.”
